I promised I wouldn’t only do fast food reviews here, so here’s my first review for an item from a real restaurant. Holy Taco has been in the EAV (East Atlanta Village) for some time now. It’s a local joint that most people I know enjoy. You can spend a lot or a little, depending on your appetite and proclivity for fancy things. I usually get a few tacos, Ecuadorian salsa, and a couple PBRs, which doesn’t break the bank. Anyway, I had the Braised Bacon Taco for the first time and thought it deserved a review. I give this bad boy 5/5 stars, it’s spectacular! The bacon itself has an amazing texture and explodes with flavor. I wouldn’t have thought to pair bacon with corn, but it’s a match made in heaven. The overall mouth feel is a unique experience that you’re not likely to have had before. Someone told me its hard to have more than one since it is somewhat rich, but it’s a must-try item if you’re in Atlanta. It’s pure genius in the simplicity, executed with exquisite expertise, one of the best tacos I’ve ever had. I’d also suggest their tortas, and the margaritas are some of the best in town.
